After a long career as the face of political journalism in French-speaking Switzerland, Alain Rebetez tells the Helvetians all about France, as Tamedia's Paris correspondent. Five years after his arrival, we take stock of his mission and the differences between the two countries.

Alain Rebetez invited us to his home in the 20th arrondissement. Far from the tourist hustle and bustle of central Paris, the neighborhood exudes an almost natural freshness. Just a stone's throw from the journalist's home is the Père-Lachaise cemetery, where Benjamin Constant, another «little Swiss» who moved to Paris, is buried. He went on to become a journalist read throughout France, a successful novelist and a member of parliament renowned for his eloquence. History remembers his commitment to «freedom in all things».
