French essayist and journalist Laetitia Strauch-Bonart introduces the new magazine she edits, featuring contributors such as François-Xavier Bellamy, Samuel Fitoussi, Ferghane Azihari, and Abnousse Shalmani. 

Le Regard Libre: Why launch a 160-page magazine dedicated to ideas at a time when people’s attention seems to be fragmented by social media and 24/7 news? 

Laetitia Strauch-Bonart: Because I will never come to terms with this fragmentation. I have a high regard for human beings and their intellectual capacities. And I don’t understand why our era has resigned itself to this jumble of disjointed, asynchronous, context-free discourse—which the widespread interconnection of everything with everything else produces—and which serves as our «conversation.».
