Le Regard Libre N° 67 - Loris S. Musumeci
After the best-selling Winter in Sokcho (2016) and The Pachinko Balls (2018), Elisa Shua Dusapin gave birth to a third novel last August: Vladivostok Circus (2020), which tells the story of Nathalie, a costume designer who travels to a circus in Vladivostok, Russia, on assignment. She has to create outfits for a trio of artists practicing the Russian barre. But between language barriers, shyness and downright discomfort, Nathalie struggles to carve out a place for herself in the group. Woody Allen« special report»
This is not an autobiography of any kind. The character's own story is certainly part of it, but it's not the whole story. As impressive as Woody Allen's cinema is, it doesn't make for such a pleasure to read a 534-page pamphlet that's not divided into parts or chapters. Not a work of memory, but a work of entertainment. The director once again takes on the role of writer to romanticize a life that is as hilarious as it is ridiculous, and therefore touching. To read Soit dit en passant is to have a good time laughing and bonding with the main character.

We all agree. We're all moving in the same direction. United against the coronavirus. Solidarity of a humanity trembling in the face of a so-called unprecedented epidemic. We are at war with the coronavirus. With masks and bottles of hydro-alcoholic gel, and thanks to the heroism of our doctors, we will win. Amen to that! The world will never be the same again. 1TP5Neveragain! Hurrah! Humanity is rising up in an unprecedented surge of awareness. Let's protect ourselves, let's protect our loved ones! Let's all join hands - err... no, sorry! Let's keep a distance of one meter and banish all physical contact... - to erect a barrier against the great Satan who is advancing to kill us.

Extract from the «Génération Angèle» file»
The great French-language music revelation of 2018! More than a revelation, Angèle is a phenomenon. A young blonde combining beauty and intelligence at just twenty-four years of age, she is conquering the hearts of French-speaking youth. And beyond: her audience is beginning to reach far beyond generations Y and Z, and is no longer exclusively French-speaking; her explosive success in New York in December 2019 bears witness to this. Angèle's eighteen tracks include lyrics, music and video clips. Lyrics that touch, music that stays, clips that surprise, and a sublime woman who already seduces so many, even though she's only at the dawn of a promising rise.
