Shortly before the New Year, Radio Télévision Suisse (RTS) brought out the silver and crystal with a historical series produced in collaboration with Netflix. If this lavish work is also audacious, it lacks prodigiousness.

Winter Palace tells the story of the birth of the luxury winter hotel industry in Switzerland at the dawn of the 20th century. In the heart of the Valais mountains nestles the fictional village of Champaz, austere from neighborly quarrels and gradually deserted by its inhabitants for lack of work. André Morel (Cyril Metzger) and his wife Rose (Manon Clavel) embark on a crazy project to open a luxury palace in order to attract an international clientele and raise the profile of his childhood home. From staff recruitment worries to the first doubts, the Morel couple have to be patient and firm in their convictions, but soon everything falls into place and the first customers are welcomed.
