It's wrong to believe that religion has weakened in the West. At least, its psychological function and the need for transcendence have not disappeared. Everyone must find something to fill the anguishing void. From Carl Jung to Aldous Huxley, many thinkers have warned us that, in addition to art, drugs, philosophy and sport, we can also make use of a pseudo-political religion. This is based on a story of origins, a founding myth more or less anchored in fact, which explains how good and bad things came into being and continue to exist.
