Le Regard Libre N° 64 - Laure Mi Hyun Croset
Each month, find the column of one of the personalities who have given us the pleasure of taking up the pen for Le Regard Libre on a rotating basis. Author Laure Mi Hyun Croset takes on the exercise of writing a column questioning an intellectual trend of our time.
The Covid-19 confinement created a host of unprecedented situations: regular applause, concerts from balconies, raided store shelves, closed schools and more. One of the most chilling was the publication of the hashtag #guillotine2020. This hash sign alluding to the death penalty flourished unabashedly on social networks to violently condemn a crime that's pretty hard to pin down. It stigmatized a wide range of actions by famous artists such as Thierry Lhermitte, who had launched an appeal for donations to help fund research into the death penalty.
