Brasserie B'Art opens its doors to Neuchâtel bubus2 reading minutes

And another round in our tour of Swiss beers and breweries. As autumn turns to winter, we return to Neuchâtel, where a newcomer is making its debut on the brewing scene.

Do you know the «bubu»? A sub-genre of the now-famous «bobo», the «bubu» is a bearded bourgeois-bohemian. It's probably the term that best describes the majority of the clientele in attendance on November 17. A true generational "entre-soi", that of trendy thirty-somethings and lovers of craft beers. Enough to please a sociologist eager to create a new label in his thirst for categorization.

Thirsty teenagers of another age certainly have it. So do we, and that's just as well, because the Brasserie B'Art, which is celebrating its inauguration, offers no less than twenty different beers on draught - not counting those in bottle. A word of clarification: since «brasserie» in French means either a place where beer is brewed, or an establishment where beer is consumed and quickly prepared (but often delicious) hot and cold dishes are served, we think it useful to specify that the B'Art is a brasserie in the second sense of the word.

Twenty beers on draught, then, from local microbreweries, some of which we visited. in this section. As is often the case, we'll be highlighting three beers that are well worth a visit. Biche«, for example, caught our somewhat biased attention, no for its name, but for its fumet. Have you smelled it, you faucet traveler? No doubt you will if you haven't already. For its taste, too, is commendable: for a white, this beer has a lot of character. It's more than just fruity.

Other hoppy beverages we will remember include BFM's «Saison», a sour ale not so acidic for its category, rather light, with the good taste of the barrel, as well as the «O'datte», which is none other than the amber with dates from the La Vouivre brasserie - based in Cortaillod and whose chef, according to our information, is precisely the one who opened the B'Art - characterized by its strong caramel perfume with a very sweet flavor thanks to the dates and pear and other fruit aromas. But many other scents, cold sensations and bubbles await you in this very special place. design, very chill, very cool, as the bubus say.
