Two Swiss expatriates, Patrice Crisinel and Olivier Thevoz, paint a portrait of Texas and explain why it is so attractive. They also make the bitter observation that Switzerland needs to wake up if it wants to stay in the global race.

For the past decade or so, the American dream has been told with a Southern accent. A wave of entrepreneurs is leaving California and flocking to Texas, particularly the Austin area, renamed the «Silicon Hills» because of its appeal to technology companies such as SpaceX and Oracle.
