Once upon a time in the West

PHOTO ESSAY, Bernard Léchot | I wanted to follow in the footsteps of this absolute masterpiece by Sergio Leone. The «Sweetwater» ranch was waiting for me in the Tabernas Desert, in Andalusia. A little further west, after searching carefully, I ended up at the small abandoned train station in La Calahorra-Ferreira, where Claudia Cardinale used to get off… And much further west, on the other side of the Atlantic, just a stone’s throw from Monument Valley, facing the ruins of the arch, Ennio Morricone’s music pierced the silence of the desert. What a moving moment.
