The first one! Reservoir Dogs was the revelation of a director in 1992 who would sit on a pedestal for the next thirty years, right up to the present day. A film that almost didn't see the light of day, and consequently a director who might have missed the launch of his career - even if a profile like Tarantino isn't one to throw in the towel easily, and in any case he would have had too much to say, too much to show, not to express himself through art. Cinema has a genealogy; so does this film and its author. It was because Tarantino convinced the great Harvey Keitel to play for him that his producer agreed to finance him, even though he was skeptical but recognized the talent of the young film buff who wanted to become a filmmaker.
