My first series of images in Le Regard Libre was devoted to the white marble quarries of Carrara. A year later, we set course for Caunes-Minervois, in the Aude department, to discover a more discreet deposit, which nevertheless supplied incarnate marble to such famous sites as the Grand Trianon in Versailles, the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel in Paris and the Great Mosque in Cordoba... A poetic stroll around the now-defunct Carrière du Roy and the still-active Terralbes quarry.
