Traces of Stone
One day, I asked Jean-François Bernardini, the frontman of the band I Muvrini, to tell me about a place of his choice in Corsica. He thought for a few seconds, then replied: «A beautiful abandoned village in Balagne, near Calvi: Occi. A majestic village where you can see the sea and the horizon. There are the stones of the past, the houses of the past. A fantastic place—uninhabited, yet so very alive with other things.» Years later, I went to check it out—and was delighted to do so.
