For many, liberalism remains a vague concept. In his new book, «On Liberalism», Cass Sunstein seeks to define it, while expressing his admiration for some of its most influential figures.
Cass Sunstein is one of the most influential voices in American public and constitutional law. A prolific author and professor at Harvard Law School, he achieved worldwide recognition in 2008 with Nudge, co-written with Nobel Prize-winning economist Richard Thaler. In this book, the two researchers rethink the relationship between public policy and individual behavior, introducing the concept of nudge, a «nudge» designed to guide choices without restricting individual freedom.
In 2009, Sunstein joined the administration of President Barack Obama, with whom he had struck up a friendship when they taught law together at the University of Chicago.
