The contradictions of the new feminism

Among the various forms of feminism, two main currents can be identified. The universalists, like Elisabeth Badinter, believe that women should have the same individual rights as men. The others, faithful to a more recent narrative, make friends with Islamists in the name of their communitarianism - and don't stop at this paradox.

Swiss feminist associations in the «Women's Strike» movement (see interview on following pages) never miss an opportunity to denounce on social networks what they consider to be attacks on the rights of women and other «minorities» in Switzerland. They are also very committed to certain foreign causes, such as the defense of the Palestinian people. The treatment of women and homosexuals in Gaza, which relates to these two concerns, could logically be the subject of particular attention.
