War in the Taiwan Strait: three scenarios

War in the Taiwan Strait: three scenarios

The fateful moment is approaching. Never before has the People's Republic of China (PRC) been so ready to undertake its historic mission: to complete the reunification of China and wash away the affronts of a century of humiliation. Beijing has long been preparing for this, as have Taipei and Washington. While all options are on the table, there is no guarantee that this operation will be the prelude to a new confrontation between the great powers. Here are three main scenarios, and the issues that underlie them.
Make the margins the center

Make the margins the center

In Switzerland, France, and indeed all over Western Europe and the USA, with nuances by country, the left no longer resembles itself. The story of a major electoral shift.
Federal Europe by Denis de Rougemont

Federal Europe by Denis de Rougemont

Bref tour d’horizon.
Switzerland and the EU: Félicien Monnier VS Julien Rilliet

Switzerland and the EU: Félicien Monnier VS Julien Rilliet

The relationship between Switzerland and the European Union has never been worse. On that, our two debaters agree. But beyond that, their views are diametrically opposed. Félicien Monnier, a self-styled conservative and sovereignist, is a lawyer and has been President of the Ligue vaudoise since last year. Julien Rilliet, a member of the Socialist Party and the Mouvement européen suisse (NOMES), runs his own political consulting firm. Here are our ten questions to these two young observers of the French-speaking world, who are interested in the fate of Switzerland and the continent.
