A look at the painter-poet: Chagall (1/3)
Marc Chagall (1887-1985) is considered one of the greatest painters of the twentieth century.th century. Three episodes are devoted to his work, which is not just painting. It is also poetry. Verses of a winged, colorful love that can be contemplated in L'Anniversaire (1915).
From Cubist experiments to the temptations of Fauvist violence, to the plunge into the light of Orphism, Chagall remains unclassifiable. He is a style, a manner of his own, in all his evolutions and variations. His oil on canvas L'Anniversaire is part of this movement, although it is surprising at first glance. Is it really Chagall?
