Vincent Heidelberg, whom nobody knows by that name and whom we'll refer to by his Twitter handle «Vicnet» (@AstroVicnet), has made a name for himself on YouTube thanks to his talents as a science popularizer, creating the «Stardust» channel. At the time of writing, the channel had 221,048 subscribers. On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin's first steps on the Moon, we meet this videographer and parachutist who is captivated by space and airplanes.

Le Regard Libre: What did the Apollo 11 mission symbolize for the times?

Vicnet: Having spoken to some of the veterans who were involved in the Apollo program, I remember that, for the Americans, it was the culmination of a frantic space race between the USA and the Soviet Union. This technological rivalry began with the launch of the first satellite, Sputnik 1, in 1957.
