The status of teacher is just one title among many. A true teacher is one who transmits not only a subject, but also a passion. Such is the case with Thomas Hunkeler, Professor of French Literature at the University of Fribourg. Here's a man with presence, here's a man with drive. He knows what he's talking about, just as he knows how to lose himself in the freedom of an open, non-academic and uninhibited discourse. a priori, to share his tastes and thoughts on literature.
Le Regard Libre: What led you to literature?Thomas Hunkeler: I've always been a great reader. As a child, I remember visits to the library where borrowing was limited to three books at a time. Very quickly, those three books weren't enough for me. My mother had to come with me so we could explain what I was looking for.
