In parallel with its musical program, the Paléo Festival has for several years offered a space dedicated to the circus and street arts, La Ruche. In a whimsical setting, several shows are staged throughout the week. Immersion
After braving the dryness of the plaine de l'Asse, we discover the somewhat hidden entrance to La Ruche: a venue for shows combining circus and street arts. These take place every day of the festival. As you enter, although you can see a few cars on the road around the festival in the background, you are immersed in a carefree imaginary world.
All in all, 24 companies are giving performances between July 18 and 23. These include, Les Invendus, from Brittany, France, perform their show «Accroche-toi si tu peux» every day. Juggling, dancing and comedy, Nicolas and Guillaume take their audience along for 45 mesmerizing minutes. Most of the show takes place in silence, without music or words... but with the festival's bass resonating! «Whether we're scheduled for the early afternoon or the evening, the dynamic will be very different: we adapt our energy to that of the audience and the mood of the moment», say the two sweat-soaked artists after an opening performance on Friday evening.
Lunar space-time
Later that evening, the Les P'tits Bras performs for a packed audience. With impressive pirouettes and other aerial acrobatics, the artists capture the attention of children and adults alike. At the end of the show, the crowd can be heard chattering between volunteers and festival-goers: «The atmosphere here is different, it's like being in a bubble!»

Whatever the time of day, the Hive is teeming with laughter and wonder. At the back of the space, an installation showcases photos of the festival taken the previous day. A number of seating areas invite you to relax. A bar offers refreshments. All the elements are in place for a pleasant break from the hustle and bustle of the festival.
