Le Regard Libre No. 51 - Ivan Garcia

With Le Dragon d'Or, Robert Sandoz and his company, L'outil de la ressemblance, create a dynamic staging for a political fable that focuses on contemporary society and the issue of migration.

In the kitchen of the «Thai-Vietnamese-Chinese» restaurant Le Dragon d’Or, four cooks and a server, all wearing purple aprons, are bustling about; orders are pouring in at a frantic pace, and one of them, known as «The Little Chinese,» has a toothache. In this haven of Asian cuisine, located on the ground floor of a building, many of the building’s tenants come to eat. Through soy sauce noodles and vegetable curry, we get a glimpse into their daily lives, which are often shrouded in mystery.
