The desire of various countries to increase the proportion of biofuels in petrol highlights some important issues: the difficulty of a truly beneficial ecology, but also the essential role of governments in promoting value-based policies in the face of a globalized economy that seems to know only profitability as a criterion.

We don't talk much about biofuels, which we all use, often without realizing it. In Switzerland, 5 % of biofuels are used in petrol and 7 % in diesel, without any obligation to indicate this at the pump. Worldwide, almost 7 % of the fuel used is already bio-based, and this proportion tends to increase every year.
