Laziness no doubt has a lot to do with it, since Denis de Rougemont's entire work has been freely accessible on the Internet since 2020, thanks to the work of several researchers at the University of Geneva. This prolific writer devoted much of his work to Europe, which he saw crushed between the two superpowers, the United States and the Soviet Union. In his Open letter to Europeans of 1970 - a plea for European cultural identity - the Genevan writer defends the idea of an integral federalism, based on a regionalism opposed to all forms of modern nationalism.
