The figure of the explorer has continued to evolve over time. While some now see adventure only in the service of a cause, others believe it's possible to be an adventurer without being committed. Venturi shipper Xavier Chevrin is one of them.

It's an apt expression to describe the time of the Crusades, the pilgrimage of arms, the runaway on the Silk Roads, the slightly later era of the Great Discoveries, the more recent era of scientific expeditions and, finally, contemporary technological expeditions. All of these eras have given lengthy courses to the adventurers of their time; all have had a more or less notorious resonance, but not all have shared the same objectives.
