Pince-sans-rire, lordly, classy. Paolo Conte, creator and interpreter of Via con me, but also of the grandiose «Gli impermeabili», «Sotto le stelle del jazz», «Max» and «Hemingway», appears authentic in the documentary dedicated to him and just released in French-speaking Switzerland. This film is an opportunity to plunge into his mystery. It's also a beautiful object, with the chic and charm of the song of the same name.

LONG-FORM ARTICLE, Jonas Follonier | He served as chairman and CEO of the Société de la Feuille d’avis de Lausanne and Imprimeries Réunies SA, and later of Edipresse, a company founded by Paul Allenspach, the publisher of "La Feuille d’avis de Lausanne," which later became "24 heures." Author of the crime novel "La peau de Sharon" (2000) under the pseudonym Ken Wood, he had previously written under another pseudonym, Marc Lacaze. Under this identity, he published short stories and columns in "Le Nouveau Quotidien"—which became "Le Temps" after its merger with "Le Journal de Genève"—and a collection, "Le dessert indien" (1996). But it is under his real name that Marc Lamunière, a leading figure in the French-speaking Swiss press of the 20th century, has just released a book celebrating his 100th birthday, which he marked in early 2021. Conceived as a series of interviews with journalist Jacques Poget, *Le Jardin des piqûres: A Centenarian’s Reflections on His Life, the Past Century, and the Days Ahead* offers us a true philosophy of life, shaped by the author’s own reading. An interview.
LONG-FORM INTERVIEW, Antoine Bernhard and Max Moeschler | Snarky Puppy is undoubtedly one of the greatest contemporary music groups. Founded in Texas in 2004, the three-time Grammy Award-winning band explores a unique musical genre at the crossroads of jazz, funk, R&B, and so many other styles. As part of the «Autumn of Music» event organized by the Montreux Jazz Festival, we had the chance to meet the three band members, who were at the Montreux Palace for the occasion: Michael League (bass and bandleader), Bill Laurance (keyboards), and Justin Stanton (trumpet and keyboards). It was an exclusive conversation in a magnificent setting! Here, we’ve tried to capture the most interesting parts of our discussion.
The bias is easy: contemporary music, therefore commercial music, therefore bad music. If this formula can be criticized for its simplicity, it would be dishonest to deny it any validity. And yet! It sometimes happens that natural selection operates correctly, offering excellent groups success and fame. Such is the case of Snarky Puppy, an American band that has already won a prestigious Grammy Award three times: last month, they released a remastered and remixed version of their album Tell Your Friends. Let's look back at some of the band's history.
It's to the sounds of my record player squeaking, Bechet's clarinet and the night rain that I'm about to write this article. The mood is set. Vintage, jazz, romanticism and a theme, that of a director who has fascinated me for many years: Woody Allen. He was the first and only director to offer me films that seemed to come out of my head and his hallucinatory reflections, but also the first to penetrate my dreams and passions. Here's Allen from the «point of view» of what we'd call: an admirer.
The history of the disc is to be found in Martigny (VS).
It's rare, very rare, to come across such successful documentaries. Directed by Swiss Sophie Huber, Blue Note Records:...
