Theodor Wildt is a skilled excursionist, a studious prose writer and a brilliant camera operator, sharing textual and pictorial fragments of his work with Regard Libre readers.
It is as a skeptical observer—not a fearful one—that I press these keys in an effort to depict the situation of my time. To do so, I had to overlook the tremendous harm this emotion causes in the analysis of facts and the interpretation of events. Moreover, I had to disregard our species’ relentless tendency to dwell on the narrative of its own downfall.
Ever since we became beings capable of thought and language—even before we made history—at all times and in all places, some among us have never ceased to promote and spread theories of decline and annihilation. Our society is no exception.
