Aznavour: a sex singer

Charles Aznavour is not known as the greatest provocateur of the last century, nor will he ever be considered an author of erotica. However, sex does feature in his work, with varying degrees of suggestion.

In any case, the aim is not to try and list all the excerpts from texts in which the singer writes the words «flesh», «breasts» or «woman», to somehow justify the title of this zany, provocative article. But rather to present two of his songs that can be considered sensual. I might as well tell you right now that fans of detailed descriptions, genitals and all, will be disappointed.

Après l'amour and Toi et moi are forty years apart. Both deal with love in the dark intimacy of a double bed. Depending on the era, however, the reception was not the same. Both songs are im
