At least since the 18th century and Voltaire's sojourns in Lausanne and Geneva, the Lake Geneva region has been a haven for many intellectuals, attracted by its peaceful political climate and the prospect of a relaxing life.

It's a haven of greenery in the heart of Lausanne. Parc Mon-Repos, located in the northeast of the city, offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and a glimpse of what the capital of Vaud must have been like when it was still lined with vast estates. Indeed, this park is home to a mansion that was the nerve center of one of the great estates of the Lausanne region in the 18th century.

The building's imposing yet austere appearance is a real eye-opener. Many tourists stop in front of the building to take a series of snapshots, intrigued by the air of majesty that emanates from this residence, despite its size.
