«Sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll: without risk there's no pleasure». Since June 19, its creator's birthday (four days after his friend Johnny Hallyday), you can connect to the airwaves of Radio Perfecto. It's Philippe Manœuvre's latest folly. The former editor-in-chief of music magazine Rock & Folk doesn't hide his pleasure at the airwaves of France's first classic rock radio station.
It has to be said that her aura has been growing quite spectacularly over the past month. We've been listening to it since its launch. One of the successes of this newcomer to the soundscape, apart from its leader's identity, is undoubtedly that it is based from the outset on a concern for quality. Everything had been prepared to ensure that this abundance of rock would not go unnoticed. Right from day one. Starting with Philman's skilful programming.
Here are just a few examples of the monuments broadcast from the French capital. Good Times Bad Times, by Led Zeppelin. As Tears Go By, by the Rolling Stones. Gimme Shelter, by Paul Brady & The Forest Rangers. All Along The Watchtower, by Jimi Hendrix. Mr Mister Broken Wings. And so many others... Radio Perfecto, is an atmosphere, an era, a style. Above all, it's coherent, beautiful music.
A modern medium, too. Radio Perfecto relies solely on new-generation distribution channels: the Internet (radioperfecto.net) and applications for tablets and smartphones. This webradio sets an example for its counterparts. Its application not only displays the title of the live track and the artist, it also offers a choice of playlists and lets you create your own repertoire of favorite songs.
At last, a pleasant station: free, commercial-free and without unnecessary gloss. Vocal interventions are to the point, focusing on anecdotes and explanations from enthusiasts such as Dominique Duforest, Fred Marc and Eric Lange, not forgetting boss Philippe Manœuvre. Very American voice effects, intimate programs, funny segues, the «only classic rock radio» can be summed up in one of its jingles: «Radio Perfecto, the fucking rock radio, and that's that.»
