Agricultural commodities: listening to mom
An old refrain. That's what the text of the popular initiative «No to speculation in agricultural commodities» sounds like. On the one hand, it calls for a ban on agricultural derivatives and, on the other, for the Confederation to make an international commitment to combat speculation in commodities. In their arguments, the young socialists are daring. They go so far as to quote their mother: «We don't play with food». With a slogan that smacks of moralizing, it's not surprising that a wind of weariness is blowing across the political landscape. Is an economy at the service of people just another pious hope from a left-wing in need of an ideal?
