In Partridge, the comic and the surreal blend into a novel cocktail. But the flavor of this cinematic beverage quickly loses its surprise effect, and falls asleep more than it intoxicates. A mixed impression of Erwan Le Duc's first film.

Welcome to a family that's completely hammered, but picturesque. In a bored but poetic town. What's with the «but» anyway? That's probably what an offbeat tourist (Maud Wyler) is thinking when she arrives in this household after having her car and diary - no, her «correspondence book with herself» - stolen by a revolutionary nudist sect. The bachelor captain, played by Swann Arlaud, falls for the charms of the brainless schemer. The latter's brother, an earthworm biologist (Nicolas Maury), is suspicious of her. L
